What You Need To Know When Traveling To Scandinavia

There are many different tours to Scandinavia that you can undertake. And, most of these tours are something you won’t experience again. However, just like traveling to any other country, there are a couple of things that you should know about Scandinavia or Norway. This is so that you know what to expect when arriving in Norway:

No need to tip in restaurants

In most countries, you need to tip your waiter at least 10% of what you are spending at the restaurant. However, if you are going to Norway, you won’t need to worry about this. They are including the 10% tip into their bills, before you are actually paying.

This doesn’t mean that you can’t tip them extra. This can just make the waiter’s day extra special. This is also the reason why Norwegians are struggling to understand that they need to pay 10% extra when they are visiting other countries.

Not an expensive place

This is the number one reason why people are traveling to Scandinavia, Norway and why there are so many tours to Norway. This is a place that is known for their great prices.

It doesn’t matter if you are going to restaurants, or staying in a hotel. The amount that you are going to spend on a tour to Norway will be much lower than going to any other place in the world. You are getting value for money, for sure.

Norwegians like their personal space

Something that many people don’t know, that can be helpful, is the fact that the Norwegians really like their personal space. They don’t like it when You are sitting at the same table as them, and they don’t like it when strangers are coming up to them are greeting them with a kiss on the cheek.

This isn’t their culture, and if you are traveling to their country, you need to respect their wishes and their beliefs. This is the only way that you can have a great stay, without making them angry.

Touring to Norway, or even touring through Norway can be a really great experience, but then you need to make sure that you are knowing as much about Norway as possible. This is just the right thing to do, to know their beliefs and culture, so that you can know what to respect and what not. It is a really friendly place, and they treat their tourists well, but only if you respect their wishes and their beliefs.
