~"TRAIN UP A CHILD IN A WAY HE SHOULD GO"~

Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death". As parents, I understand we have the power to speak life or death to our children and over our children. Choosing to speak the word of God over our children, is choosing to speak life over them. Jesus said in John 6:63, "The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life". And as Isaiah 55:11 says – these words will not return to you void, but will accomplish and achieve the purpose for which they are sent.

Okay now that I've got that out, let me just say that I am a full time Mom and love everything about it. I like TRYing out new ways to communicate what I want from my kids by keeping it simple enough for them to understand and effective enough to get my results or even better Godly young boys.(:

Because my boys are fascinated with superheroes, whatever issues or discussion we have, I'd point out how their favorite superhero might handle the situation. And depending on the situation, I sometime share what my hero....JESUS would do, with hopes that we would one day share the same hero! The picture on your left is my son, CamRahn at age 4.

Two years later on, July 20th, 2012, I had the privilege to lead both my sons T.J(8yrs) and CamRahn(6) in praying the salvation prayer. (: I was reluctant at first due to their age, but my son Cam insist that he understood and he really wanted Jesus in his heart. Leading up to this day was a night of hard rain and scary tornado warnings. My husband was working late so I suggested that maybe we can have praise and worship with the doors open. I wasn't surprised by their exciting response simply because we sometimes like to play outside barefoot in the rain. After our worship, I read the story of Jesus calming the storms and I can tell by their sweet faces, something had connected within them, so much so that Cam ask to help him ask Jesus if he could come live in his heart.(: As exciting as I was to pray with him, I cupped my baby's face in my hands and told him maybe next time but I was very proud of him. The next day from when he woke up till around 7p.m, there was no stopping Cam.  His relentless, persistent, and excitement was so refreshing and encouraging. It made me want to kick up my speed with my walk. Nevertheless, I welcomed him into our Kingdom family just to turn around behind me, to find my son T.J on his knees in tears because he too wanted Jesus. {made me cry(: } Such a sweet boy!

Their trusting and sense of wonder is so full of life and faith. It's no wonder the bible advised us to have a childlike faith. My boys now have an invisible "Jesus-cape". My son Cam had just started kindergarten and when I ask how was his first day and he replied, "it was so much fun! I even shared Jesus with my new friends". His second week he came back and said, guess what! I prayed the Jesus prayer with one of my girlfriend, Kara. Now we both have Jesus in our hearts. ((:

With public schools at its worst, sending my kids to school was nerve wrecking. But now I have no regrets. Who knows maybe they were born for such a time as this. A fisherman is no fisherman without no fish.

I have to trust in my raising and let God be God in their lives. I was reminded in the book of Isaiah, the earth is not a dark place where circumstances rules and where uncertainty rules. The whole earth is full of His glory because the unchanging God of the Bible rules. It is the sin of men and their actions that makes the earth appear very dark. God still rules from his throne.

Here are some of my favorite scriptures I declare and confess over my children:
~Exodus 20:12 I thank You Father, that my children honor and obey me, therefore, they please the Lord and will live a long life.

~Psalm 138:8 My children will fulfill God’s will and purpose for their lives.

~Romans 12:2 My children are not being conformed to this world’s system, but they are constantly being transformed by the renewing of their mind, that they might know what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God for their lives.

~I Timothy 4:12 My children are examples to others in life, in love, in faith, and in purity!

Awe, this was beautiful, Mushana, as are your children and the guidance that you are giving to them. Both of my older sons were Kindergarten age when they let Jesus in their hearts. It was just as touching both times; my salvation came by the "fishing" of my older son when he was that age. I pray that we all keep that child-like faith because the world does become a darker place without it. Motivation, dreams, desire to become more Christ like is not the same without faith and love. Hugs & Blessings!
