I must admit at first I was very spectacle, I didn't think that the SodaStream would taste anything like real soda. When I said real soda, I mean taste anything like the soda I am use to drinking and that is why I really wanted to review one.

When I got the SodaStream I was surprised at how easy it was to put together, I only had to do a few things and I was ready to start making soda. I got sent so many favors with the SodaStream so I wasn't sure which one to try first. I decided on the cranberry-raspberry.

What everything looks like after I have removed it from the box.
The other soda bottle was stored in the back of the SodaStream, where the CO2 bottle goes.

I filled up a one of the reusable soda bottles they sent me to the water fill line (I used my filtered water from the fridge, but that is just because I am picky) I screwed the bottle onto the SodaStream like the instructions said and pressed the button four times because that is how many it took for it to make the Buzz sound. I unscrewed the bottle from the SodaStream and poured a little less then a full cap of the cranberry-raspberry flavor, screwed the cover on and gently tipped it upside down and right side up a few times (until it looked mixed). I then unscrewed the cap and poured some into a cup, eager to try it. I was very surprised at how fizzy and yummy tasting it was. It was just like I had opened a bottle of soda from the store, so you get an idea of how fizzy it was.

After I had screwed on the bottle.

All set to press the button on top

After I had added Carbonation

After I had added the flavor & before I had mixed it.

It is fun making my own soda, I love that I get to decided the strength of the carbonation and the flavor. Cleaning is easy because the only thing you need to clean is the reusable bottles. I have no need to clean the SodaStream because I only use water with it, as per the instructions.

After I had mixed it, ready to enjoy!

With the SodaStream I don't have to deal with a ton of cans and bottles to lug into the house and then have laying around until I get enough to make it worth returning them. When the flavor bottles are empty I simply rinse them out and then place them in my recycling. When the CO2 tank is empty you simply re-order online or take to your local trade in center, Click Here and enter your town and zip code to find yours.

Having the SodaStream has made my life easier because I don't have to deal with looking out for the sales to stock up. Stocking up meaning six twelve packs or more to lug into the shopping cart, into the vehicle then into the house and in the cupboard. I think buying soda at the store is pricey and using my SodaStream is very affordable.

List of what I was sent to review:

SodaStream, in the box:

  • User Manual
  • 1 Soda Stream home soda maker
  • 1 Reusable Soda Stream CO2 Carbonator - Under licence (included) (makes average of 60 liters)
  • 2 Reusable 1 liter Soda Stream carbonating bottles
  • Soda mix Taste Sampler which makes 1 liter (33.8 fl. oz.) of each of the following: root beer, orangelemon-lime (Compared to Sprite)Diet Cola, pink diet grapefruit, ENERGY (compared to Red Bull)

List of the bottles of flavors:

Each of these makes 12 liters:

cranberry-raspberry

diet pinkgrapefruit (compared to Fresca)

diet lemon-lime (compared to Diet Sprite)

Cola Free (compared to Coke Zero)

The following two, make 6 liters:

mywater flavor essence all natural - unsweetened: orange, raspberry, and lemon-lime (1.35 fl oz each bottle) only need 1/2 teaspoon to one liter of sparkling or still water.

I am not a fan of sparkling water but I do like favored water, so I will soon be trying my water flavor essence.

My Favorites so far are:

cranberry-raspberry

Cola Free taste just like coke zero to me (big fan of coke zero!)

orange (one of my husbands' favorites too!)

I am still trying flavors!

I highly recommend the Soda Stream to anyone that wants to make their own soda. It is fast (3 minutes or less), fun and easy!

So not only is the SodaStream cheaper, healther for the environment, but also healther for you then other brands as I found from looking at the facts from the SodaStream site. See facts below:

All SodaStream regular sodamix uses a mixture of Splenda® and sugar. Diet flavors are sugar-free,  sweetened with Splenda® brand sweetener. Comparison is based on 8 fl. oz. serving size (0.34 fl. oz. of SodaStream sodamix per 8 fl. oz. of water).

My Helpful Tips:

  1.  I suggest is if you are making a diet and a regular of the same soda use a small piece of masking type and mark them so you don't get mixed up. (Simply removed the masking type when the bottle is empty)
  2. You can also go on to the SodaStream website to purchase more reusable bottles so that everyone can make what ever kind they like.
  3.  I like to take one of my SodaStream bottles to go when going to a friends house or if I am going to be gone for awhile. I use to have to carry four or more cans and juggle everything to get it into the vehicle to go, now I just take one of my SodaStream bottles and go.
