Last week was spring break and I spent the week in sunny Florida with my boys. It was so nice to get away from the dreary Michigan weather for a few days. We had an awesome time. We spent time at the beach and pool. We played shuffleboard (I do not have a future in shuffleboard, I lost every game). We spent a fantastic day at Busch Gardens. All in all a great trip!!
I was still able to get most of my workouts in. The best part of my workouts was that Best Body Bootcamp started again!!! I got up early to get them in so it wouldn’t interfere with the day.
I have to be honest I was getting into a rut with my workouts. Winter was hanging on and I just wanted to run outside, I was inTreadmill Depression. I had been waiting patiently for spring, very, very patiently.
The week in Florida was just what I needed to re-motivate and re-energize me. I ran outside by the ocean. I did my weight workouts in the fitness room in the condo complex. It was wonderful. It was a good change of scenery for me.
As I ran and worked out last week I formed a plan of attack in my head for my spring (I think spring arrived in Michigan while I was gone, fingers crossed). I have decided to set goals for every month. This month I am focusing on 2 things.
Lastly, I am very excited because my first half marathon is this Saturday!!! I can’t wait. I know that may seem odd to some but I can’t wait to see how my training has paid off. My goal is to finish under 2 hours.
I will be running The Chocolate Milk Martian Half Marathon sponsored by Running Fit. Running Fit is a fantastic running store in my area and I absolutely love their events.
I love the medals too. I can’t wait to add it to my collection. They also give out pins at each of their races, I proudly pin them to my sun visor in the car. (Side note-After seeing Run Eat RepeatsHalf Marathon medal display hanger I have decided to make one of my own-why I didn’t think of this before is beyond me, what good are they doing me sitting in a box!!)
