Newbie needing direction of getting traffic up!

I started a blog at www.victorialauring.blogspot.com. I wanted to see if any experienced mommy bloggers can give me the snap shot of how to get the traffic going to the blog and get companies to have me review their product. Hoping to eventually generate a little income on the side. I have written articles for local and national trade publications so that is the easy part. I have also been in the maternity and baby industry as both a etailer, boutique owner, buyer and designer of a product myself, along with a sales rep for other businesses in this field since Feb 2003. With all this behind me, I am sure it can work once I have direction. Any info is greatly appreciated!

For traffic make sure to "ping" your blog after every new entry at sites like pingoat.com or pingomatic.com. There are more out there but those are my favorites and free like most social media. good luck!

A snapshot is tought, but I do have a list of blogging resources on my site (www.coolbabykid.com). I've been blogging for nearly a year and am just starting to make income now. I don't nkow if that's typical, but i do know according to my blogging guru (www.problogger.com) it does take lots of time to build readership and therefore attract advertisers.

Entrecard definately helped me with traffic (www.entrecard.com) and having lots of patience for the long haul helps too! :)
