So we are only 11 days into the New Year and I have already not followed the resolutions that I had set for myself. I was going to write a nice blog about the six resolutions I had set for myself, but our internet went down and I wasn't able to write it. And now that it's working again I guess it was a sign. (since I haven't really followed a single one.)
With that being said I've decided to rethink my idea and write about how we shouldn't set resolutions for ourselves. Maybe we should start giving ourselves a break and a pat on the back for the things that we do do. I mean really as a Mommy we already have a full load. We have to be nurses, teachers, cooks, entertainers, accountants, nutritionist, thrifty and the list goes on and on.
That sounds like a full load to me. So the fact that we think we need to add working out, eating right, yada yada is really kind of silly. If you want to add something why don't we add, give yourself a break, be happy, smile more to that list. These are things we can accomplish and should be. If your like me as a Mommy I am very hard on myself. I am always feeling like I could do more. Play more or clean more or whatever. I don't stop to look at the big picture. My kids are healthy and happy as well as my husband. Isn't that all that really matters? Oh yea I forgot someone in that statement, ME! (duh!) You have to make sure that you are happy. I have a hard time with this. Don't get me wrong I love my life and my family but I do wish I had more time for myself.
What I mean by this is sitting down more during the day. Watch a show I like (not a movie that's asking a bit much). Enjoying my coffee in the morning and not thinking about all the clothes that need to be washed. These are the resolutions you should set for yourself if you are wanting to set some type of goal. Remember happy Mommy happy life. (Ok so that doesn't rhyme but you get what I'm saying)
Enjoy this new year with your family and be happy! You only have one life so make the most of it but also remember to relax more and enjoy the ride. Happy New Year!
