Ahh Yes.  I have heard this before from my oldest and youngest daughter.  It was startling to hear on both occasions.  I wondered where this came from and what I may have done to contribute to it?  Well, I begin to understand that children have a natural maturity progression and that it was my responsibility to instill balance in their lives so that they were not so focused on not being pretty; or being too focused on themselves.    I prasied them when appropriate and listened to them.  I also let them fail when appropriate (that was the hard part).  Healthy balance has been key in rasing my girls.  By the way, your daughter is absolutely beautiful !
