A little of this and a little of that

I am loving the weather right now!  I love having the windows open all day and being outside.

First up, I had so much fun hosting the #fitblog chat last night.  I truly appreciate the opportunity.  Thanks to Katy Widrick, she organzies the #fitblog chats.  There were so many great answers to the questions, I had a hard time keeping up.  I want to be apart of more of these, I either just plain forget or life happens and I am not available when they happen.  I am going to do better and participate in at least one a week or one every other week.

Second, I started my big painting project yesterday (Goals, Painting and #FITblog chat).  I have changed the name from painting to big painting because I discovered yesterday that it is a big project.  I have 27 doors to paint, I painted for 4 hours and 15 minutes yesterday and painted 14 doors and a file cabinet.  The file cabinet is a bonus project, my husband brought home from work because they were getting rid of it.  He knew I had been wanting one, isn’t he romantic, seriously I was super excited about it.  But it was off white and I needed it to be black so I added it to the door project.

I have to say I love the way the 14 doors look even with one coat on them, I cannot wait until the project is finished.  To be honest I was worried I would get started and then hate it and have to attempt to paint white over black.  But never fear, I love it!!

Third, I am very excited because I applied to be a Resident Mom on Skinny Mom’s website.  I had to complete three unpublished articles.  I was accepted!! What this means is I will write articles for the website.  How fun!!  I really like what they offer on their site and how they work to empower women.

Next on my list is to try to be a Sweat Pink Ambassador from FIT Approach This is another great site that empowers women to sweat pink and to do your best to climb, find balance and reward yourself.  Fingers crossed, the application process is open again and I applied…I’ll keep you updated.

Last, Kristen who blogs at Making it Daily nominated me for a Liebster Award.  I was nominated once before so I will post my answers from last time and then answer her questions.

Here is a link to my answers from my last nomination Liebster Nomination

Here are my answers to Kristen’s questions:

  1. What has been your most favorite trip/vacation and why? I loved our family trip to Washinton DC.  I had never been and it was fun experiencing it all with my boys.  They loved it and talk about it often.
  2. Sweet or savory when it comes to your favorite foods? Sweet for sure, I have an enormous sweet tooth so I will pick dessert over a meal anytime!
  3. Are you a risk taker or are you risk averse? I am in the middle, I like to take calculated risks.  I am not one to jump in unless I know the water is the right temperature and depth.  I like to do my research before taking a risk.
  4. What’s your passion and what do you do for a living? I am a mom for a living and I love it.  I wouldn’t trade my job for anything.  My passion these days is my family and exercise, both have helped me beyond anything I could have ever thought possible.
  5. What’s your biggest regret in life? Not being able to say good-bye to my mom and not telling my father in law how much he meant to me before he passed away.
  6. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given? It wasn’t advice really but a line in a move (Ever After with Drew Barrymore) and at a stressful moment she stops and says just breathe, I always think of that line when I am having a hard time.
  7. What was your first job? Babysitting, my first job where the government took some of my earnings was Village Inn Pizza Parlor
  8. What talent do you wish you had? Not really a talent but I wish I liked to bike but I don’t and it hurts my behind but I think it would be fun to do a triathalon.
  9. What’s your biggest pet peeve? Inconsiderate and rude people.  Everyone has a bad day, I get it but you can still be kind to others.
  10. What’s your favorite way to spend a day off? With my boys or reading a book
  11. Would you rather swim with dolphins or do deep-sea cage diving with great whites? Dolphins no question, it’s on my bucket list
