After Juliet was a newborn I got her and Lincoln on the same schedule. My kids wake up the same time (thanks to Lincoln), eat at the same time for the most part, and go to bed the same time. With Juliet still being under one. She naps whenever she wants during the day and will eat in-between meals. Getting them on the same schedule is one of the best things you can do for yourself as a mom to keep you sane and make you feel a sense of freedom.
This is our life saver at the mall and our and about at other places. Lincoln likes to run around, hide in the racks, and basically be a hyper 3-year-old in a store. The double stroller we have is below. It is easy to get the kids in and out of and fits in our Nisan Rouges trunk. You can transform it multiple ways to best fit your family. There are better ones that cost more, but for the price of 199.99 (at Target) this was the best one we found. Which ever double stroller you get will help you out tremendously at keeping your two safe with you.
Kids are very unpredictable. One second they can be happy go jolly and the next throwing a fits over a candy wrapper…you just never know. I usually tend to pick my battles when we are out in public. This one is a hard one to do because it is in the moment. You will be able to find out what works for you and your children.
Up until Juliet was about 3 months old, I still had a diaper bag that was over the sholder…and it sucked. I would be carrying the car seat with Juliet in one hand, holding Lincoln’s hand in the other, and trying to make sure the diaper bag wasnt falling off one of my shoulders. One day I said it was enough and went out and found a back pack diaper bag. I looked at just regular back packs, but they didn’t have all the compartments that I wanted. With diaper bags running around $50 plus I was really skeptical in buying it, but it is one of the best purchases I have made. I wish I got one of these when I had Lincoln. The one below is the one I have and love from BabiesRUs.
There is only so much that you can carry, and carrying two different snacks is a pain. Having snacks always on hand can make a sour situation instantly better. My go to snacks for Juliet and Lincoln are pretzel sticks, goldfish, animal crackers, and Cheerios. I put the snacks in the slider Ziplock bag. This is awesome for little hands, because Lincoln can open and close them on his own.
