I'm back!!! Well Mama's it's been 3 long months and I am finally back. I took a break to get myself together. I hadn't been feeling too well and I could not figure out why. My family and I took a trip Memorial Day weekend and I got sick on the trip but I mustered through it and kept quiet...Yeah, yeah I…

Marriage is a Vocation Not a Vacation!

Mama’s I’ve been doing some serious thinking here lately and I know a lot of people that are married. Some have some really good marriages while others struggle with trying to make their marriage thrive. I’ve been…

DIY Mama: Make your own baby food

Mama’s my youngest child is almost 10 months old and she has started to eat a whole lot more, opting for a whole lot more food than formula. So I figured it was time to turn it up a notch and instead of spending a dollar per jar of food I would…

Cinnamon Honey Butter

Mama’s this week we celebrate teachers for Teacher’s Appreciation Week. I love my kid’s teachers and I like to say it and show it. So I do a few crafts for them. Last year it was pretty easy because I only had 1 kid in school. This year I have 2 kids, but my daughter has 2 teachers so that is a total of 3 teachers. I had to get creative and since I always have a kitchen stocked for those emergencies I decided to whip up…

Southern Sayings that I love and grew up on!

Mama’s I am a southern girl to my core. I live in the city and while I enjoy city life sometimes I wish we lived on a farm. Maybe we would have some chickens, a few pot belly pigs, ducks, maybe a cow and a goat or two. My daily attire would definitely be my dungarees (jeans and overalls) daily with my hat and rain boots while driving my red1984 Chevy Pickup (extended bed of course). I grew up in Florida (Tallahassee,…

Teaching your children tolerance

Mama’s this week we have been bombarded via TV, social media and radio about a pro basketball player coming out to the world that he was a gay man. While I am a Christian and I do not agree with his lifestyle I’m not here to bash him or condone him as that is not my place. I am here to talk about tolerance and respect for humankind, period. Our children learn from us and the behaviors we display. It is so important that…

Meatloaf Muffins & Faux-tatoes

Mama’s as many of you already know a month or so ago my family embarked on a Paleolithic (Paleo) Lifestyle change. I say lifestyle change and not diet because it is something we are going to adopt and practice for the rest of our lives. Of course we’ve been trying to eat healthier for a while now and it didn’t taste good so we’d always give up and go back to the greasy, pre-packaged, non-healthy…

You don’t use paper towels, say WHAT!

Mama’s in my quest to save my family money and try my best to be a green Mama I decided that my family could live without the use of paper towels. I know some of you are about to flip out and look at me sideways, seriously hear me out. We are a family of 6 and we used a lot of paper towels. Every 2 weeks we went through 12-14 rolls of paper towels. This costs us about $22.00 per month. It is my job to save my family…

DIY Mama: Laundry Detergent

Mama’s this weekend I decided to try my hand at making my own laundry detergent. Yes, that’s right my first powdered laundry detergent. I wash at least 12 loads of laundry a week. I know that is not the norm for most but we are a family of 6 (daddy, Mama, 7, 6, 2 and 8 months) so things around here are constantly getting dirty. We spend on average $20.00 a month for laundry detergent; this does not include fabric softener or dryer sheets. I came across a few recipes…
