It can be really hard to deal with your kids when they are fussy or having a tantrum. They can grate on your nerves when they keep….on…..crying no matter what. It is definitely frustrating for me when my kids are having fussy days. Like the equivalent of waking up on the wrong side of the bed. Sometimes it is enough to just lock myself in another room for a few minutes (with them in safe places of course) while I get myself under control. All kids have small issues or big issues, but they…Continue

Recently I had the privilege of taking Illy out on a date. We'd been talking about it for a while and were long past due for an outing, but there always seemed to be something else going. "Dates" don't always have to be a big outing, in fact, some of our dates have been a sweet treat and girlie movie. No BOYS allowed! ;) This time, however, I wanted to do something special and…Continue

"I don't love bright colour. I know lots of people love colour in their space but it's just not for me. How can I make my space look great without big, bold colour? I don't want it to look boring."
Colour can do a lot for a space and we often tell clients to think - colour, pattern, texture and shine as the 4 key elements in a space to keep it visually interesting. But not everyone loves colours and that's OK. You can definitely have a chic pace with little to no colour…

Pregnancy is a time full of lifestyle changes and new adjustments. From the expected (no more smoking!) to the bizarre (no more hot dogs?), it can be hard to filter out the good advice from the bad. One tip you may have heard from friends, family, or your healthcare provider is that you should only sleep on your left side, but just how important is it to follow that advice, and what are the risks if you don't? Ultimately, it is good advice to sleep on your left side if you're able, but if…Continue
Our kids need to wear clothes...well, at least need to be clothed in public (I'm lacking in patience for disapproving stares just as much as the next mama)...and Sprouting Threads is changing the way parents shop for their kids' clothes.
How many times have you bought an adorable new outfit for your kiddo, and then, it's outgrown in a few weeks or months? I mean, kids…Continue

I must admit, if you would have asked me my thoughts on ageing 10 years ago my reply would have been a negative one. And why not!?! Everything I had seen on television, in magazines, conversations with friends, etc. told me that once you get grays & wrinkles your life was pretty much over; you mine as well curl up into a ball and wait to die. Nothing about getting old seemed glamorous. Old people always complain about this breaking, that not working like it used to, etc. Ugh! Who…Continue

I was sitting working on my blog and registering for sweepstakes one day during my daughter's quiet time. It's time I get to use to be productive or have a break from the insanity. One particular day, just a few days before Christmas, I was thinking of all the presents I still have left to wrap, and then I began to think about our Elf…
