When I hear the word Campbell’s my mind goes back to a simpler time. A time when the biggest decision of the day was what type of cereal I should have for breakfast. When my day would consist of play and not coming home till the street light came on, when there were no iPhones, emails to check, or bills to pay. When I hear the word Campbell’s I think of childhood and warm tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches, warm cheesy chicken casseroles, etc. Campbell’s was definitely a…Continue
Women place a lot of faith in expensive moisturizers and wrinkle creams, waiting months for them to do what the label promises. Have you been told by the doctor that you have high cholesterol? Does it concern you? I have and yes it does concern me. The build-up of plaque in the arteries, called Atherosclerosis, can be very serious. With an unhealthy diet, cholesterol collects in the artery walls and can cause deadly heart attacks. I for one, would love to be around to see my grandkids, if my son ever has any that is (he is a little shy, but that’s a whole other blog…lol). In my research, I have learned that certain…Continue

If you would have asked me a few years ago what niacin was, I would have likely said it was one of those funny sounding vitamins that I used to read on the side of the cereal box in the morning. And it is. But it was only recently that I realized just how important this little gem of a vitamin really…Continue

I started this blog several weeks ago to talk to other moms about my journey to become green. My hope was to share information and maybe inspire others. Being healthy, taking care of the planet and giving back are all very important to me and that’s why I typically post on my blog daily.
On a normal day, I am up at 5:45 AM. By 8:30 AM, I have gotten my son up, made sure he was ready for the day, cooked him breakfast and driven him to school. The beds are made, sinks and toilets…Continue

Here in the Chicagoland area, people are wearing RED today as part of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. Many people still do not realize that Heart Disease is the #1 killer of women over the age of 20, according to the AHA. The upside to this? It’s largely…Continue

Yes, this V-day craft is about a week late, but in my defense, I had it completed on the day.
This is a project that has been going around. I found it in Family Fun Magazine and decided to expound on the theme.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I found some $2 shirts on my thrift shopping adventure.…Continue

I'll freely admit to you, right up front, that I believe in fairy tales. Sort of. What I mean is...I believe that two people in love can live happily ever after. I believe in the power of things unseen. I believe there is more to this world than just what we can pick up with our five senses. I believe in miracles. I have no choice in the matter. I have seen miracles, I have heard of…Continue

Those silly Braxton Hicks started a couple of weeks ago. Annoying "fake" contractions that indicate that the body is preparing, exercising, for labor. It's normal and expected.
But they began to grow stronger and stronger in intensity, until Sunday afternoon when they grew so intense that I could no longer stand up straight,…Continue

Bebe Sounds baby monitors can provide peace of mind for new parents. And Angelcare Monitor is fully aware that there are many things for parents to take care of when they bring their child home. They need to make sure the baby’s basic needs such as food, shelter and clothing are taken care of properly. However, the safety of your baby while they are sleeping is also a major concern.

I am 30 weeks along.
I have an 18-month old.
It seems the housework never ends.
My floor is sticky.
I can't bend over anymore to pick up all the toys scattered everywhere.
I have tons of translating work to do, and a worship list to arrange by Friday.

I’m having a bad day. I had a bad day yesterday, and the day before. I am feeling off my game. And I don’t like it.
I spent yesterday afternoon in a cardiologist’s office. For once, it wasn’t for my father, but for me. Daddy has had a couple of sets of stents placed in the grafted veins of his heart. The first round was in January, and again in April. He is fine now and is feeling much better, but the effects of sitting in the cardiac unit of a hospital have shaken me…Continue
