PARENTAL ADVISORY: I AM the explicit content!

Picture
I remember my first curse word. We were riding in the car with my parents when suddenly; my father called my brother a little bastard. It happened at a time that I was going through my repeat everything someone else says until they snap phase. "Yeah, ya little…

Has THIS ever happened to YOU? OH! You must be MARRIED!

If the roll is empty, change it. If it looks like it might be getting empty, change it. If you think that there may even be a remote chance that there are only two squares left, grab a new roll and (wait for it)... CHANGE it!

There's nothing quite like reaching over to find an empty roll of toilet paper after you've finished doing your business; but somehow it happens,…

If the magazines can do it, why can't we? Photoshop THIS, Faux Weekly!

Picture
When I was younger, I wanted to be a model. I even went so far as to attend one of those multi-tiered marketing programs that handed out hollow promises of fame and fortune for the low, low price of $500 a head shot. Like most women, I've had my share of ups and downs in the beauty…

Funny Reviews for a kind of Unnecessary Product: "The Banana Slicer!"

Today I realized how super lazy I am. I like to put sliced bananas in my cereal and I'm also in the process of trying to eat healthier, so I was making a fruit salad when I started to wonder if there was an easier way to cut my fruits. I looked online, because you know? Anytime you want to know something, you Google or Amazon.com it, lol. I went on Amazon and found a banana slicer. Woah! So someone had that idea before…

Siblings: Love > Guilt

There's the perennial discussion... is it better to be the oldest or the youngest sibling? There are obviously pros and cons to both and it also depends on each individual family, but I think, and my opinion is obviously bias, the older siblings definitely have one thing on the younger siblings.

Older siblings have to live with Older Sibling Guilt (OSG).

Being an older sibling myself in all my years of talking to other older siblings, there is not one, NOT…

Baby Shower Game: Create a New Diaper Style Using Toilet Paper

This past weekend I attended my Sister-in-Laws baby shower.  She is expecting a baby boy in May and I can’t wait to meet her newest addition.  The shower was a success. Mom and dad to be got showered with gifts to make their new baby feel loved and welcomed.

The room was decorated with a jungle theme and her cake was so cute.…

Egg Hunt

Today, I entered into the age old practise of the Easter Egg Hunt. Or the Mum Suddenly Thinks It's Okay To Eat Stuff Off The Floor O-Thon.  As you may be new to this custom, I have decided to give you a run down of how things might pan out for you. You'll need small chocolate eggs, a novelty basket and a will to win.

(Futile bunny ears optional)

Jewels

This interest in dangly adornments stemmed from when I thought I'd try being a A Hippy. Turned out that after a few shoeless months picking gravel and shards of bus stop out of my trotters I realised that I was, in fact, not Joss Stone, but a slightly overweight idiot wearing one earring and an air of working class desperation.

Elastic Fantastic

It is here.
I have waited seventy five weeks for this moment.
Five hundred and twenty five days have crawled teasingly past; 12600 hours have edged painfully along; 756000 minutes have dragged tauntingly by; and on every single follicly challenged one of them I have remained patient, resilient, focussed and unwavering in my longing for and pursuit of THIS VERY DAY.

Pam Cake Day

Happy birthday Pam! Mum, Dad and I wish you many happy returns! We did make you some little cakes to celebrate but we all decided you really wouldn't like them, so as our gift to you, lovely lady, we ate them all. No worries. And as you were otherwise engaged on your big day, I decided to outline the festivities you missed out on.
Congrats old bird!

Splash

Anyway, as part of my teacherly duties, a Parent's Evening swings by every once in a while that I have to prepare for. This usually involves the faffing about with of certain documentation (sponsored by numerous late nights), the picking of an outfit (sponsored by varying degrees of indecision about how much I look like Sandi Totsvig) and the throwing on of an affable nature and a hauntingly empty fake smile (sponsored by Disney).

By the time the event itself comes…

Manners

So rapidly blossoming is her vocabulary that all swearing, of even the lowest level, must be muttered through bitten off lips for fear she will clasp her flapping lugs about its profanitous phonemes and spit them, some three hours later, at an unsuspecting stranger in Tesco. It's My Pity Party And I'll Cry If I Want To

Oh. My. God. I realize that I had it ridiculously easy when I was pregnant with Conor. The only symptoms I experienced were the inability to say no to a nap or a Chalupa. Now I'm wondering how I'm going to possibly to survive the next 9 months. I mean really, how do women do it? All I want to do is curl up in a nauseous, migraine induced coma.

And who's bright idea was it to take coffee away from pregnant women?? STUPID. I've never craved a 6 pack of Mountain Dew as badly as I do…

Christmas Party Boy

So, me and my son resigned ourselves to an afternoon of gender bending (I myself lightened her load by pacing the dance floor in the plastic cracker moustache I found on the floor).
