Not All Smoothies are Created Equal
Smoothies always sound delicious, but you have to ask yourself, are all the smoothies good for you? What about the smoothies you can buy at your local supermarket versus the ones you can buy at a smoothie shop or the ones you make at home? What are some good fruit smoothie recipes that taste great and give you energy and help you lose weight?…Continue
How many parents are tired of hearing, “What’s that green stuff” or “I don’t like it?” It seems we have a better chance of getting our children to eat snacks loaded with refined sugar and preservatives than natural fruits or vegetables. Who can blame the kids though?
The effectiveness of guerilla…Continue

My mother has a new hobby! My birthday was a few days ago and my mother brought me two gifts from NY. I thought it was a strawberry short cake from my favorite bakery. They smelled sooooo gooooooood, and just as I was about to dig in, I decided to eat a strawberry first. The strawberry would not separate from the rest of the cake, so I was confused...…

I signed up to bring Fresh Fruit for Roman’s pre-school class and when I showed up with this tray, I had signed up for the WRONG CLASS! Wouldn’t you know, the wrong folder was on the counter at the wrong time when I scribbled our names in for the 21st of March. Thankfully, Roman’s sweet…Continue

I know that my son gets plenty of vitamins because he takes a fantastic supplement and I “hide” vegetables and fruits in just about everything (might have to do a post about that). But when it comes to eating fruits and vegetables in their natural state, it’s all about the “dip”.
He doesn’t like apple slices unless there is peanut butter involved. Forget about carrots if there is no ranch dressing. Salad? Better have some raspberry vinaigrette. I should be glad, I know but I…Continue
This is a quick, easy, fresh and tasty side dish that you can add to almost any meal. Perhaps this is even too simplistic to blog about, but it is one of my favorite salads (and apparently a favorite with my nieces and nephews as well) so I decided that I'd get it out there.

We all go through phases with our children's diets. (Heck, I go through phases in my own diet as my tastes change throughout the month. So what can I expect?) But kids are notorious for being "picky," "difficult" and "plain."
And truth be told, my kids have thus far been truly amazing little eaters. My first has very openly tasted foods most of her life, leaning towards a less-interested stage when she hit four years of age, but nonetheless, discovering for herself what she truly…
