Sitting behind a desk all day can not only be a strain on you health mentally (bad lighting, lack of Vitamin D, closed in by four walls with phones ringing while typing away...) but it can be a strain on your physical health as well. With eight hours or more in a stationary position your back and core muscles suffer as well as your metabolism. Irregular lunch breaks coupled…

Did your hospital or midwife allow eating during labor? Most of us MomCavers weren’t allowed to eat once we arrived at the hospital. The reasoning behind this (barbaric, in our opinion) practice is that in an emergency, general anesthesia may be used and any food eaten could aspirate into the lungs. While this may be a concern in very rare cases, most laboring moms are doing the most physically demanding work of their lives and could use some sustenance.

Every parent wants the best for their children. They can do anything for their children. When it comes to the food, children have the various tantrums for eating the healthy food. Today, most of the children love to eat the street and the junk food that can have the bad effect on their health. Sometimes it becomes very difficult for the parents to decide what to do and what not to. In this situation, you can take the help of the website like…Continue

To eat and exercise right will benefit the rest of your day. Mornings begin by turning a light on. And what I do for the rest of the day can keep the light on or burn it out. Giving my morning a generous head start keeps my energy and attitude more positive for the rest of the day. I’m a morning person, but a LATE-morning person. I don’t do wondrous things first thing.
After I wake up, I make a sleepy, quiet trek across the house to the kitchen to start breakfast. I stay in my sleepy…Continue

When I was little we had a simple rule in our household: No eating in front of the television. We ate our meals at the tables in the kitchen or dining room. In nice weather, we ate outside on the deck.…Continue
I was on the hunt this weekend for a spinach soup that was hearty but not creamy and not full of noodles or other grain. We have been trying to cut back on the grain intake again and I had already had my share of creamy soups during the week (lots of pumpkin and creamy potato leek). Plus, we had purchased a big bag of spinach at the market last Sunday and it…
Every evening when I come home from work, I ask my son about his lunch. Most days he gives it high praise: "It was double fantastic awesome!" Some days he gives me helpful criticism: "Please pack the crackers and the cheese separately so the crackers don't get soggy." Our deal is that he has to bring home everything that he didn't eat so I can make sure that he is consuming enough healthy food.…Continue
I'm being tested. But, I realized what my problem is. It's not mean friends or that I lack motivation, what I lack is a bit of self control. But I won't freak out, it's something I can fix as long as I ignore a certain friend!
As soon as I finished my trampoline workout, she called me. I heard her calling while doing…
I made these last night and they were delicious! I only wish that I had made more to freeze, we ate them all for dinner! These homemade chicken nuggets were so easy, and only have 3 ingredients (not counting salt and pepper, which I happened to forget anyway): ground chicken, panko bread crumbs, and olive oil! The whole process of making them was quick and painless, and I knew the quality of the meat and breading was much healthier than any chicken nuggets that can be bought in…Continue

November begins the start of party season for many. Office parties, family gathering and even some formal events will offer tasty food and beverages that can knock us off our game. Here are 5 small tips that can make a big difference in maintaining our routine but still enjoy the festivities.
1)Don’t skip breakfast – I’m guilty of this myself, thinking, I’m going to have lots of things to eat later so…Continue
Me and my husband, we love to eat! :-D We love to cook (well, my husband does, I just bake), we love to go out for a delicious dinner and when choosing a travel destination, good food is a must.
Compared to other parents who I hear are complaining that they haven’t eaten outbecause of their baby for months, I must…Continue

My son's birthday just passed. Since it's the beginning of the week and we'll be celebrating on the weekend, we knew we still had to do something ON his birthday so I baked a cake and cooked dinner. We always eat food at the same time, which is whatever time I finish cooking, but we eat in different rooms. My kids eat in the kitchen, I usually eat in my room while watching one of my favorite shows and my husband likes to eat in…Continue

This is a follow-up to my last blog post. I just made more Egg Muffins, and I wanted to share the delicious outcome with you. I changed the recipe a bit and added six organic eggs, chopped onions, grated cheeses and turkey bacon. If you want them to puff up a bit more than use 6 eggs instead of four and cook for 20-25 mins instead of 10-15. Click on…Continue
