Stupid Toys For Kids

My son is the ultimate toy tester: if there's a reason something should NOT be a toy, he'll find it, lol. Read more at: http://2kids-jeanne.blogspot.com/2008/11/stupid-toys-for-kids.html

Crazy Book Slut

Okay, so I thought I would venture out and make a blog about books, Crazy Book Slut!

Anyone who knows me, even a tiny bit, knows I am addicted to reading! I ALWAYS have my nose in a book, and it is not unlikely for me to finish a book ( 200+) pages in just under two days. Needless to say I do not sleep.

For my every day chit chat you can find me over at Punky Monkey's

Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting (gluten-free, egg-free and dairy-free)

This is my first gluten-free chocolate cake that's not from a mix. I tend to stay away from mixes, because I enjoy creating my own and also I like to add my own sweetener. I really like how it turned out but I do want to try another chocolate cake made with partly coconut flour.

WOW - www.Alltop.com is a GREAT resource for parents

I recently discovered www.alltop.com what a great resource. In addition to Parenting, they offer such a wide array of topics, with links to some of the better blogs on the net supporting those topics.

As a parent who not only has ADD, but also has children who deal with ADD, I was thrilled to find some great sites about living with, parenting with, and parenting kids with ADD.

I could do a quick entry on all the great topics I've been clicking through on Alltop, but don't… Continue

The Morning: Sat. Nov. 29th 2008

This morning my son Stephen woke me up... I love it when he wakes me up...

I noticed I was actually having a real conversation with him... It was great! My little man is growing up. His vocab is getting so much bigger... He even said the word “Classified”...

Holy cow! I thought, what an amazing sound coming out of a 5 year old.

He is becoming more and more independent... It scares the life out of me... But I enjoy it all the same.

Is spanking a form of child abuse?

A few weeks ago I wrote about the 8 year old Arizona boy who shot his father and another man.

Police have claimed from the start that this was a premeditated act and that the child has admitted to it. What drove the child to want to murder his father? Police now say it was because he was spanked.

In a written record of spankings by his parents police say that the boy vowed that the 1,000th spanking would be his limit. According to a police record, the child "is believed to have… Continue

More Websites - Same Content!

Been awhile since I've been on here - but I'm back!

Well, I now have 9 websites, having just finished my last one - http://www.NaturalProductsOnline.ca!

It is hard starting your own home business, and perseverance is the way to go! My theory was "go big or go home" and my hard work is (finally) paying off!

I started with one website, general Content - ExpressionsByTamara.com. Then, I realized I should have the CDN version too - so I got… Continue

Fundraising for you and the planet

Fundraising and school are inevitable. But that doesn't mean you have to dole out your hard-earned money on products that end up in the garbage, or on the hips. The company I recently started working with has fortunately been able to combine two of the inevitable issues facing parents today- school fundraising and preserving the earth for our children.

Green Students Fundraising was started by a group of University students who wanted to… Continue

Christmas spirit

Hi every one, I wanted to talk about how lucky we are and how we need a little reminder of that in the holiday times arriving. I was raised with a lot of love and I'm going to give it to my precious children so they know I love them.

Many Families don't have that kind of environment and it's not obvious for them to share their love with their kids as they suffer from money problems, and are focusing on the wrong things.

Can you imagine a Christmas tree empty of gifts? Only… Continue

My Dear, My Darling, Baby, Honey, Pretty, Sweetie...

What does your hubby call you besides your name? My dear? My darling? Baby? Honey? Pretty? Sweetie? I believe the sweet-name calling usually started from our dating episodes. My hubby prefers to call me 'lowpor'' which means 'wife' in Cantonese. Not really a favorite of many ladies. Did you get what I've just implied? Bwahahaha... I prefer DEAR coz a favorite ex of mine used to call me that and that word itself somehow melt me. Knowing this, my hubby… Continue

Have fun this Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is one of those holidays where you can eat way too much, visit with relatives way too much, and need to chill even more. We can't wait to do this and while we are doing it we can't wait to be done with it. Yet, in the end, we learn to be thankful for it all.

CREATION OF THE FIRST TV DINNER.

In 1953, someone at Swanson severely overestimated the amount of turkey Americans would consume that Thanksgiving. With 260 tons of frozen birds to get rid of, a company salesman… Continue

Lessons On Dying

Today a student asked my feelings regarding hospice care. We had a patient that was in the process of being discharged from the ICU to hospice. He asked if that would be a hard decision for me to make. Without hesitation I answered "No."

The greatest gift you can give a person in their last days is dignity. I would much rather be in my home surrounded by family and friends, eating cake and drinking Diet Pepsi than in a hospital setting. A hospital is the last place on earth you can… Continue
