First Born Frenzy

When my son was born, our house transformed from a chic, yuppie house to all things baby boy. A barrage of toys-for-boys filled the rooms, an indoor slide, a maze of parachute tunnels and a mini-basket ball hoop dominated his playroom. His closet broke a rod holding the dozens of blue outfits he had been given and I had bought. Every day I was off to the store to get something he needed, and whether it was the latest baby gizmo or another have-to-have baby accessory, I managed to find something… Continue

My attempts to get over stage fright…

I love theater and movies and acting. I only wish I could do it. I always call myself the eternal student and I love getting absorbed into the material. Acting does the same thing to me, when I’m transported into a whole new world when I’m at a performance or watching a screen.

I’ve always pushed my love of theater into the background and pushed my love of learning into the foreground. For as long as I can remember, I have hated being on stage. I was terrified at every ballet recital,… Continue

The carrot, the egg and the coffee

A dear friend of mine emailed this little story to me today and I thought I would share it...

The Carrot, the egg, and the coffee

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again.

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up, she was tired of fighting and struggling. It…

Mom In My Happy Place

Thank you to all that had responded to my post.

I just got back from the store. I was school clothes shopping. L has to wear uniforms this year. I am not sure how it is going to go. She might love the fact that everyone is wearing the same clothes. I am just a little concerned because of her sensitivity to touch she likes to wear spandex leggings all the time. We all know that the uniforms are not spandex! I might have to put the leggings underneath the jumpers.

We still have a… Continue

This will be my first post in my blog.

I am a mother of two beautiful girls. My oldest is 10 years old(E) and my youngest will turn 9 years old(L) in about a week. My youngest was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2 yo. My life as well as my family's life has not been the same ever since and we have been on this journey that takes us in so many different directions. We have the most typical of days where we can breathe and feel almost stress free… Continue

SKIN CARE AND CHARITY

SKIN CARE AND CHARITY

Already talked about the rather awesome "soap with a rainforest essential oils are " but now that I'm getting to know the brand a little better, I realized that I'd left out the most important part.

For every 5 bar of soap sold, Natural Handcrafted Soap donates one to Rainforest organizations in Brazil

Anyway, it got me thinking about skin care companies that give back, so here… Continue

Mommy Perfection By My Own Standards

I never really started off aiming to be a mom. I had so many other ideas for life that motherhood seemed that it would have just gotten in the way. For me, it was dreams of an Airforce career, being independent, taking care of myself. Wow, long way off from where I stand today. Today I'm a mother of three, wife to an Army soldier and a, get this, STAY AT HOME MOM!

Big changes from the dreams of a kid, never experiencing anything. Only thinking of my own happiness. Not knowing about… Continue
