Backseat Driver: The Car Seat Conundrum

(excerpted by the author)

Nobody ever knows what to get for a car seat. There are a surprising number of options from mainstream and specialty manufacturers. The car has become, after all, an extension of our homes, and the infant car seat in particular, an extension of baby’s crib, in itself an extension of mother’s womb.…

Puppy Loving Pigeons

So, I can read, big deal right. It was pointed out to me recently that with the death of J.D. Salinger all my favorite authors are dead. Just in case you wanted to know the others include Douglas Adams and a bunch of long gone philosophers. I don’t make nearly enough time for my own reading pleasure anymore and no where has that been more…

be impossible for you.",

don't blink they grow up so quickly...

Just a "few" years ago I had my first little girl, Lauren. It seems like yesterday I was peeling her off my leg as she went off to her first day of preschool. So how can it be that we spent the last year planning her wedding? Mommies, don't blink soon you too will be sending off college applications via the internet and then planning color palettes and setting

wedding dates. All that to say I want to share this short 4 min wedding video…

What A Difference A Day Makes (Or Even Better Four)

We've all seen those TV adverts where Dad arrives home from work and the children run to the door to meet him, pure delight shining in their eyes, so happy are they to see him. Well not a lot of that has been happening in our household of late. In fact, quite the opposite. When Daddy has managed to make it home before bed time he has been greeted with more than a hint of… Continue

Battle Royale

Here’s my baby momma update (incase anyone was wondering). We did get our step-daughter last weekend as scheduled. Apparently she threw a fit before she went to school Friday wanting to come over, so her mom let her. This situation is so beyond ridiculous.

Healer Be Healed

It has not been bound up for healing or wrapped with a bondage, so that it may become strong to wield the sword., Ezekiel 30:21...but

instead you go immediately back to war...with a wide open

sore...paining you to the core. Clearly oozing...knowing you could use

the blood of the lamb's transfusion. Be transformed and freed from

confusion...a side effect of the prolonged delusion...of a wounded

person who… Continue

The Proposal

If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you know that I was once widowed and if you have read Two Funerals, A Christening and a Wedding, you know how I met my husband Colby. It was all movie fashion in the Caracas

airport and the movie feel of our relationship didn’t end with the weekend in

Venezuela, although day-to-day life in a relationship with a three year old is

not necessarily the stuff movies are made of.…

What I Learned From A Sour-Apple Worm

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. -- Albert Einstein

Of all the things my children were blessed with, curiosity is certainly the trait that brings home the prize. They never tire of asking questions, and charge everything with a genuine interest to learn something new at every turn.

Even if their unbridled desire to always find out different things… Continue
