I am working on a project called Tuesday's Hands. It is a canvas filled with cut out hands that have prayers, scripture, get well wishes, anything for kids with pediatric cancer. A group of us did this for my friends daughter who recently passed, only difference is we didn't put the hands on canvas, weFILLED her house walls, a wall at her Celebration of Tuesday's Life, and had hands left over. Now I am calling on all you ladies out there...please help us get Tuesday's Hands out to as many kids… Continue

We rolled out this morning with our eyes set on the "big city" as Anthony likes to call it. First stop was the aquarium. The dolphin show was a Major hit! Each time the dolphins shot out above the water, Madison laughed the heartiest belly laugh EVER! Anthony LOVED the sharks and he was a great "Nemo" spotter!
Next stop was lunch at Pot Belly Sandwich Works (yummy delish). There was a live band playing and the kids dug it... My kids LOVE music. Madison danced along in her seat and… Continue

Last night I needed time to write my book so my husband decided to go to Makenna's gymnastics practice early and take Marcia to watch. Not long after he walked into the gym he saw Makenna fall from the high bar. He saw her coaches run to her and by the way she fell he had a feeling her arm was broken. Her coaches came up to Mark and told him exactly what he was thinking," you need to take her to the nearest ER because we think she broke her arm. " Mark immediately called me while the entire… Continue

Just an FYI to all you parents...
If you can't get your kids to give you the "front and center" full attention you desire, and you are permanently hoarse from screaming, "come here, NOW!", and you are about to pull your teeth out to numb the pain of constant disobedience from your children, then here is a way to get their undivided attention...just go to the bathroom!
Yes. It works! See, every time I go to the bathroom and shut… Continue

I just came back from “Mom’s’ Night Out – Women Who Make a Difference,” an event organized by Beth Feldman from rolemommy.com. It was wonderfully inspiring to hear Lee Woodruff talk about her journey after her husband Bob suffered a brain injury in Iraq, Alison Tepper Singer’s advocacy for autism that grew out of her daughter being diagnoses as autistic, and Lauren Candela-Katz’s involvement in fundraising. All of them, including Beth, stressed that they are doing what they are passionate… Continue

ha ha ha! Another case
of where my words have come back to bite me in the bum! Our family day is currently being spent by:
Jason grocery shopping
Me doing MOUNDS of laundry
Anthony and Madison swapping between 5 minutes of play and 20 minutes of couch time....
That's a whole lot of togetherness....

In case you get the urge to make this Trinidadian candy, I'm here for you, Man. Just---have a really, uber-strong and enormous spoon handy for stirring and make sure your sweet tooth is in gear. You might want to lift weights, upper body only. And don't use an electric stove. In fact, you might think about never making Toolum and run screaming from the challenge. Unless you have a spinning machine, then you're fine.
A frikkin' s***load of brown sugar, 1/2 c… Continue

So, Anthony relapsed. I was quite concerned because he was worse today then he was all week so I tried to get him into the peds. No go, so off to Urgent Care we go. They get us right in and are super concerned because of how hot and lethargic he is... The swab him for Strep, RSV, and Flu.
Guess what Anthony has strep AND flu b (I never knew there was a flu a. I wonder if there is a flu c) I told the doc that Madison woke up in a pile of vomit and has been running a fever today, so he… Continue

It's quiet in the house today. No one is screaming, crying, fighting, running. I haven't changed countless poop diapers. No one has left handprints on the TV, mushed cookies into the carpet, or spilled mac and cheese all over the kitchen floor. No one has demanded "SNACKY," "Water" or "Potty Time, HURRY!!" I have not watched one episode of Mickey's Clubhouse or Einsteins. The curtains have not been ripped down, the blinds have not been bent, and toys have not been "dumped." And not one person… Continue
