3 Kids & A Breakdown

A work in progress

One of the major selling points of our house was the 2000 square foot roughed-in daylight basement plumbed for a kitchen and bath. Right?! How awesome is that? Big Daddy was a little (A LOT, he was A LOT, like a huge neurotic amount) worried about the housing market dropping. He felt a little bit better […]

It Goes So Fast

You guys! Remember when your kids were really little? Like you had a newborn strapped to your chest, a 3.5 year old and a barely 5 year old and everyone would be all “Oh treasure this time, it goes so fast!”? And all you wanted to do was scratch their eyes out and hand over […]

Surprise!

You guys!I pulled off the biggest caper this weekend. I surprised my BFF by crashing her romantic birthday weekend with her husband in Sonoma County. Well, I didn’t exactly crash the party. Her husband contacted me back in September and asked if Big Daddy and I could meet them in Santa Rosa to surprise Lisa […]

I Put the Pills in the People

You guys! What do you think about this Bill Cosby, Rapist stuff? My mind is blown. At first I was all, “Let’s not jump to conclusions.” and “Where’s the evidence?” and “I can’t believe this could have been kept under wraps!” (I’m so naive).  I mean I’m 45. I grew up with Jello Pudding Pops, […]

It’s The Eye of the Tiger

In an effort to help me sleep better, I have started walking. My dear friend offered to walk some trails with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We started last Thursday, so today was my 2nd effort.  I love the walks. We have some beautiful trails on this island.   But my god, is it ever […]

I am a 40 year old stay-at-home-mom (sahm) to 3 girls. My husband and I have been married 11 years. We recently moved to Bainbridge Island, WA from San Diego, CA. What a change! I am loving all the rain and the beautiful trees, but the rest of the family is having a hard time adjusting. I keep telling my husband if he’d only get himself an umbrella and a waterproof jacket, he wouldn’t mind it so much.

I am really living the life I always dreamed of: a happy marriage, 3 beautiful kids, and I am able to stay home with them. But of course, it all gets to me from time to time. So I started this blog as a way to vent, brag, talk about other (vapid) things that are on my mind besides my husband and kids. I love to read, watch trash tv and follow celebrity gossip. So this site will have posts about all those things. Sometimes in one post! Lucky you, oh dear reader.
I have been blogging since...

Save The Drama For Your Mama

Posted on March 6, 2010 at 12:56pm 1 Comment

Because I have 3 daughters the drama in this house is way too much. Yes, I'm assuming and yes, I'm generalizing. Two things no one should do. But, I don't have sons (obviously), so you Mamas of boys please tell me: is there this much drama all the time with your boys?!

There is an unprecedented amount of screaming and crying in this house. And I'm not talking about mine (although that is a record high). Nor am I referring to the speaking-in-a-very-loud-voice screaming. (There…

It's Not You It's Me

I was reading San Diego Momma's blog this morning and her post really resonated with me and got me thinking. (Thank you, Deb for inspiring my post today).

Deb's blog was about boundaries and not being able to set them. Not being able to say no. She also wrote about the inability to stand up for herself when a man had gone too far. This is the part that…
