Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I teach English Composition and Literature on the college level and have written a book on the dark side of motherhood. I am looking for representation for the book. In the meantime, I am blogging about my views on pop culture and the way women are portrayed in the media.
What is your blogging philosophy?
Blogging is a venue that will help me in creating an awareness of unfair and unjust perceptions and treatment of women in media.

Sticks, Stones, and Blogger's Bones

Posted on November 8, 2010 at 11:07am 0 Comments

Since I began blogging last March, I have received varied responses regarding my posts. While most agree with what I have to say about feminism and the way women and young girls are overtly sexualized, thus diminishing their power in society, some people, men and women alike, either dismiss or vehemently disagree with my assertions. I…

Palin vs. Palin: Messages Girls Receive

Posted on October 4, 2010 at 10:34am 0 Comments

Have you noticed the different treatment Bristol Palin receives from the media compared to her mother, Sarah Palin? Read my post on http://marinagraphy.com to see how media perceptions of these two women affect the messages our daughters receive. It is not a political post...it's a womanhood post.

Share me with your friends if you like and let me know you dropped by with your blog's link. I will visit back. Thanks

Hi Marina, welcome to MBC! just read your hooters blog and I am glad you wrote it! That ad was a complete joke and I agree with you it is a joke how women are used...I worked in retail when I was in College as well and when I would dress up and do my hair nice they used to put me in the front to attract "clients" and they were pretty honest about that too!
The sad part is that many women use their looks to get ahead in life! That is something I would never want young girls to think is acceptable!
Great meeting you!
