Melt in Your Mouth Brown Sugar Bars2/3 cup sifted flour1 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt1/4 cup margarine1 cup dark brown sugar1 egg1 teaspoon vanilla1/2 cup nutsSift dry ingredients together. Melt margarine in pan. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar. Add egg and vanilla and beat well. Add nuts, stir in dry ingredients. Spread in greased 8" pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.See More

Good News

GREAT NEWS: Yesterday the Senate Appropriations Committee passed a ban on domestic horse slaughter as part of the FY2015 Agriculture Appropriations bill.This ban prohibit the USDA from using federal funds to inspect horsemeat intended for human consumption, effectively banning domestic horse slaughter and protecting the public from toxic horse meat. If the House passes a similar ban, this ban would last for the duration of its parent bill, the FY2015 Agriculture Appropriations bill.Read more…See More

Pumpkin Bread

Mummy's Yummy Pumpkin Bread ( 1 loaf )

(A) Beat Together: (C) Sift Together:

1 1/3 Cups sugar 1 3/4 Cups flour

1/3 Cup shortening 1/4 Tsp baking powder

2 eggs 1 Tsp Baking soda

(B) Mix together: 1 Tsp salt

1 Cup pumpkin 1/2 Tsp cinnamon

1/3 Cup milk 1/4 Tsp ground cloves

1/2 Tsp vanilla



Mix together A and B. Then add C. Pour into a buttered loaf pan. Bake 1 hour at 350 or until done.…
