Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I drive a 2002 Honda Odyssey with McDonalds french fries ground into the seats and the fragrant aroma of spoiled chocolate soy milk in the carpet.
Our family is walking chaos…with three boys 5,2, and 1 we are never far from disaster striking…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The last 2 years have been the most challenging of our lives (mine and my husbands…). We have faced disaster in almost every aspect of our lives - from a failing business to two of our sons being diagnosed with autism.
Our marriage has been tested and strained and with the looming statistic that something like 80% of marriages with special needs kids end in divorce…keeping our relationship strong and healthy takes a lot of work.
Autism is lonely and so many days we just can’t even leave the house so I am so excited to help build a community of love and support from other moms. Being a mom is hard…with or without special needs kids! It’s time for us to join together… stop judging each other, stop pretending to have it all together and just be free to be who God made us to be. I am so excited to start this journey with you!
What is your blogging philosophy?
In the process of developing Earth Monkeys (our eco-friendly “monkey” accessory line), we knew that we wanted something more from the experience than just selling cute products. We thought of what we need most as moms, wives and women and COMMUNITY is what we came up with. Being a mom is hard…so we want to create a place where we can share and be vulnerable…and we want you to feel comfortable doing the same! I don’t know how many times a day I wonder if other moms are going through the same things I am… everything from guilt and struggling with my weight to laughing about the stupidest things only another mom would laugh at.
What this blog isn’t….
It’s not a way for us to generate income…you will NEVER and I do mean NEVER see our pages littered with adds so thick you can’t tell where the post is…ahhh I hate that!
BUT… We do want to have a page highlighting products of MOMS that we have used and love so you can check them out for yourself.
It’s not a place to talk about others or bash our husbands.
BUT… it is a place to get real and be honest about issues that you are dealing with…post it anonymously if you want…just take comfort in the fact that others are going through similar stuff!
And finally, it’s not a place to celebrate being a mediocre mom or wife.
WE TOTALLY GET that being a mom is hard. Sometimes it just plain sucks…but for every negative there are 100 positives. We just want to be able to laugh at ourselves and the mistakes we make throughout our journeys as “monkey moms”. And we want to invite you to do the same.
I have been blogging since...

The Autism Prayer
Dear Lord I beg today for peace
And will you please help with these?
Him to learn to brush his teeth,
Tie his shoes, and not to scream?
Speak with words that do not rhyme,
And tell him not to stress the time?
Lord I do not know your side,
But on my knees, I've learned to rise. -EDD
Im mom to an autistic son and my daughter has epilepsy. I saw you on T.V. and I was really inspired by you & your family. I wanted to share my poem with you.
Hi there. Time is precious to us all, I know. But, if you're a petite woman & would love to read great articles about the best things that come in small packages or even know someone also that would ~ come on over for a visit and stay a spell ... we'd love to have you.
Oh my goodness...your "Share something about yourself" had both my husband and I cracking up! We have two boys and almost 4 year old and a 19 month old. We understand the walking chaos! Hilarious! Nice to meet you! LOVE LOVE LOVE your blog! :-) ~Kimberly
