Confessions Of a Cheater

There are moments, who are we kidding, full days, that can make you feel like the universe is playing a sick joke on you. Making your kid go from that sweet, beautiful little person to, "what the hell is that and why is it making that loud, horrible sound" and "how did three hours just go by? I have accomplished nothing."   It challenges your patience, sanity, and all out right to be a parent.  The fact of the matter is that parenting is all consuming.  There are good days and there are bad. …See More

Successful Fails

Having just successfully made it home from the beach, exhausted, sleeping two and a half year old in tow, I came to a realization.  That was just the easiest trip with child that I have taken in a very long time.  When did my baby get so big and when did I start getting the hang of things!?Trips to the beach are a very popular event in my household.  Hence beach season starting on a sunny 65-degree, April day in New England.  This tradition only makes sense considering it was a way of life…See More

When Push Comes To Shove...

I had an interesting morning this week with my 2-year old, Presley.  We follow a pretty regular morning schedule with afternoons being more off-the-cuff.  Wednesday started like any other typical morning, wake up, have breakfast and head to the gym.   Presley will spend an hour in the daycare with the other kids and I work out (well, what is now a very pathetic version of my workout, but we are still moving in some form or another. :). I love it. It’s a win win for both Presley and I.  She gets…See More

Tips From a 2-Year Old, 10 Ways To Live a Carefree and Happy Life

1. Eat Good Food: Don’t eat food you don’t like.  Seriously, spit it out.  Gross. Push it on the floor. Demand it get taken off your plate. Don’t even look at it. Give it to the dog, she’ll love you and you’ll never eat alone. Be in the moment. Eat slowly; put your fork down, look around, chat with whoever chooses to sit near you… dog, cat, friend...  Company is company. Eat until your satisfied, or until something flashy and exciting goes by and you just have to be a part of it. Mealtime is…See More

To My First Born

Dear Presley (my first roomie),Our rental classified has been answered.  In about 4 months it is expected that two new roommates will be moving in.  We will be taken over by 20 more fingers, 20 more toes, 2 more mouths to feed and 2 more sets of unpredictable vocals.  I’m not sure of your feelings on this.  Our happy home has consisted of you, your bff Bella, Guiness, Lj, dad and me for two and a half years now. I know it must be hard to understand at your age the impact of the addition of two…See More

Existence Defined By Weeks. What Is That?

I am now 20 weeks along in my pregnancy.  I am only aware of this number because it was displayed on the screen at my last ultrasound, 19w5d. For those like me that don’t do math off the top of your head, that’s 5 months. I definitely told someone the other day that it was 4 months. It was later that night after having counted the weeks on my fingers that I realized I completely made that answer up.  I was tempted to email them and correct myself in the case that they noticed the week to month…See More
