How to order last-minute Christmas greeting cards online for $20 and pick them up in one hour

Posted on December 17, 2008 at 12:21pm 0 Comments

This year is my fifth time making Christmas greeting cards with my kids pictures. First year when my son Andre was four months we made an appointment at JC Penney, dressed him up in the cutest outfit, and spent about an hour trying different sets and props. Unfortunately, he slept through the 'photo shoot'. But we got a cute Christmas card, where you couldn't really see the background, just a nice card with a picture of a cute sleeping baby. I spent about $80 and I was happy to have my… Continue

If your kids are little, it can be a nightmare taking them shopping to the nearby mall. You try to do all your shopping as fast as you can, and get out before they get overtired and out of control. One store has gone above and beyond to help parents have a stress-free pleasant shopping experience - Ikea.

Everyone who has been to Ikea loves it's innovative European furniture design, low prices and a variety of products to suit every taste. But if you bring children there, they will… Continue

How to combat winter blues

Posted on December 12, 2008 at 11:00am 2 Comments

It is hard to believe, but it's that time of the year again. The fall is over, and the long dark cold winter is here. Seems like the spring is so far away. Each day is getting shorter and darker, and you find yourself drawn to that couch in front of the TV, where you spend hours each night unable to get to all of those things on your list that you were heroically planning to accomplish in the winter time. It is easy to fall victim to the laws of nature, and blame it for your lack of motivation.… Continue

Kids room design with feng shui

Posted on December 12, 2008 at 11:00am 0 Comments

Feng shui, meaning wind and water is the ancient Chinese philosophy, which is used for designing a home for the success of its occupants. It has evolved in northern China since as early as 4000 BC. At the core of feng shui is the quest for balance between yin and yang, where all things are either one or the other. For example, being relaxed is yin, but being alert is yang. This concept is applied to home furnishings, where fabrics are the most yin, but glass is the most yang, and wood falls in… Continue

Where to go snow tubing in MA and NH

Posted on December 12, 2008 at 10:42am 0 Comments

On the list of winter activities snow tubing is one of the most fun, easy and cheap ways to enjoy the outdoors with your entire family. Toddlers, teenagers and adults can all have a blast sliding downhill in an inflatable tube. You can do it at night after a day of skiing or devote an entire day to it. Before you go, remember that some places have a minimum age requirement. Whether you want to have a fun day trip or spend a whole weekend away with your family, check this list of snow tubing… Continue
