I didn't quite expect to love this book as much as I did, but it's one of my favorite books this year and I hope you'd give it a look, and perhaps review it, too.WHERE'D YOU GO, BERNADETTEBy Maria Semple…See More
Kids can have the strangest fears, and yet we all seem to treat such fears in the worst possible ways. We shrug them off and think that our kids will outgrow them, or we advise our kids to suck it up, or we refer to the abstract by saying, "There is nothing to fear but fear itself," which probably means nothing to a 3-year-old or even a teenager. The dangers of mistreating a child's fear can be, at its simplest, a lifelong mild phobia to, at its most complicated, self-harm, self-sabotage, and…See More

Members of the military and their families have probably asked this question on some occasion or another, "Why do they do it?" Why do men and women choose to become soldiers knowing that they would put their lives in danger? I'm sure non-military people have asked this question as well, and many of us come to the conclusion that they are doing it because they believe in the cause, they are patriots, and they do it because it will keep their families safe. But there are, after all, stories…See More
Diabetes and Obesity interchangeably take front and center in current health news of the last few years, but it's only lately that people have started to become more aware about what kind of dietary changes they could make to fight weight-related diseases. Unfortunately, the internet and media are wrought with misinformation. Considering there are now 27 million Americans with Diabetes, everyone knows someone with diabetes, often they are family, if it isn't actually you. It seems everyone…See More

Here's a heartfelt memoir exploring why countless women, especially black women, give so much to the men in their lives at any cost. Whether or not you agree with the things Donna Britt says, there is a lot of meaningful discussion in the pages of her book, not only about the men in black women's lives, but also issues that black women in general face growing up. There are truths in this book that can be applied to all women, regardless of race. It's a perspective, and it's an opening of…See More
Share a little something about yourself with other moms.
I'm a mom to a thirteen month old and most times, he can be overwhelming, but I'd rather have him overwhelming and healthy rather than sedate and ill. He has learned how to climb, and get down (and climb, and get down, and climb...) so these days, breathing for me is optional, but I repeat my mantra (active and healthy, rather than sedate and ill).
I've also decided to join this group because I handle web publicity for Hachette Book Group's mommy/parenting titles. I'd like to be able to offer mommy bloggers the chance to get ahold of our books, most of them pre-pub, and review them--perhaps even interview authors while they're at it.
If you're interested in reviewing mommy and parenting books, let me know! I'll always be happy to send you a copy: firstname.lastname@example.org

Hi Anna. I just checked out your blog and I love it. I had fun watching your videos. I got to laughing hysterically at some of the youtube videos (couldn't stop with just McCain -- and I wonder how hours fly by when I am online) of people making "Freudian" slips on TV. Ahhh... I would not want their job b/c if I said some of the things they said, I would not be able to stop laughing.
Your blogs look and feel is one of the best I have seen. I look forward to reading more!
Whenever you have the time, I would love it if you would check out my sites. Thanks!

The threats of internet have been well-documented over the years, and while you as parent may know how to avoid them, chances are your kids don’t. Things could get ugly real fast if you don’t ensure their safety. However, it is easier said than done, especially in the modern day because kids spend…
