I'm new to the club and this group. I welcome ideas for how to participate. I help students succeed in college and in life. My blog is What's Your Major.

My FB page is here. All likes are appreciated.

If you have a student in high school, consider this thinking.

If your child wants to write, let her (or him)—encourage her—to write. The same with music and art and building things and mixing potions.

Forcing a child into a professional path that you want for her—and think she needs to follow—is like trying to put your size 9 foot into a size 7 shoe. It hurts like hell, even if the shoe is really pretty/smart/styling. Your size 9 feet can’t wear those size 7 shoes for very long.

And in the end, you’ll end up giving them away or they’ll sit on your shoe shelf—still pretty but going nowhere. Just like that law degree that doesn’t get used.

Would you be better off with a comfy pair of shoes that free you up to go where you want and do what you want on your terms? I’ve always told my kids (raised by two journalists): If you can write, you’ll always have a job. You may not get rich, but you’ll be able to pay the bills.

That’s the way I think we need to approach college. Do what you’re good at and what you love and you will succeed on your terms.

Have a great day.

Pam

Hi, everyone.  I am a blogger turned author.  My first book, Shifting Time,  will be coming out with Simon and Schuster on Sept 22.  I am beyond excited.  I wrote it as a stay-at-home mom of three kids.  My second book will be out in 2016.  Shifting Time is about a woman who loses the love of her life and 15 years later, she wakes up in an alternate world where he is still very much alive - and she gets to see how life would have played out had he not passed away. I hope you'll consider pre-ordering it! :-)

Hi mamas! My name is Andi and am a life coach/blogger for moms. A theme that keeps coming up recently is this idea that as moms we are completely defined as _____’s mom. And I don't know about you, but it makes me a little crazy. Yes, we love our kids with every part of us, but there is SO much more to us!

I believe that the best way to achieve a fun, passionate life as a busy mom is by stepping up and showing up for ourselves and our family. Creating the life we want is totally possible with kids!

Having a life full of intimacy, passion and security allows us to feel free and supported to live out our dreams.

Go ahead, call my bluff.

But think about it…

Having a fantastic, intimate relationship doesn’t make you a bad mom. Actually, it makes you a better one.

So I have created a Free 8 Days Intimacy Challenge to help you connect more with your partner and yourself.

I would be honored if you joined me!

I also run a facebook group that is meant to connect like minded moms:
