Hi all! I'm a Brazilian-American mom blogging about our travels - I use the Google translate widget on my blog so my Portuguese-speaking family and friends can follow along! You can check it here: http://www.traveltheunbeatenpath.com

Elizabeth, good luck with the move - I agree with Carolina, baby stuff (stuff in general) is way more expensive in Brazil than here (people travel to FL to get all their nursery needs and it's still cheaper that way)

Hello Elizabeth, I'm Brazilian at the moment living in Europe, but I think I can help you with some questions, since I have 2 kids. I have never used non bleach diapers, but I believe I know someone in Brazil that could pass me some info about that and I can get back to you. As for what you should take from the USA, well baby gear in general is very expensive in Brazil such as strollers, car seats and the quality not so good as the ones from USA, I'd bring that with with me to Brazil. Baby and kids clothes and shoes are also more expensive in Brazil. I'd bring baby bottles and pacifiers in case you use them, I find the quality of these products in US better than in Brazil. Besides that we have a big market for anything else in Brazil. I'd pack light for Florianopolis, they do have a mild winter season in July, but during the rest of the year the weather is very pleasant there. Its very important in Brazil to have your child vaccination card with you, they ask for it quite often. Shots are given for free in Public Health Clinics there in case you child will need one while you're there. Brazil has one of the most complete vaccination programs in the world and its completely free in the Public Clinics, any person living in Brazil can have access to it. If you have any more questions let me know. My regards, Carolina

Hi! I'm moving to Florianopolis with my husband and 4 month old son from the US. Any suggestions of natural non-bleached diapers I can buy there?

What should I bring from the US so I don't have to buy it there? What else should I know/ read before the big move?

Thank you for your help! I wish there was a group for moms who live  in Floripa.

Hello Brazilian moms. I would love to visit Brazil one day. It is such a beautiful place. I've been to Mexico City, Saltillo, Acapulco and Monterrey. How is life in Brazil.
